Belinda Howard Smith compassionately writes from
the heart experiences of trials and triumph with
humor and hope. Her articles have been published in
newspapers, magazines, denominational publications,
and book compilations such as, Chicken Soup for the
Soul.
Growing up in the 1960’s, her formative years were
spent in a rural community, centered in the heart of
the Texas Panhandle - a place where storytelling is
the primary means of communication. Baby boomers
and those who raised them will enjoy the stories
penned in her memoirs, Growing up in Plain View.
Belinda teaches scrapbooking and faithbooking
(scrapbooking with a spiritual emphasis) workshops,
hosts scrapbooking retreats, and is a public speaker.
As a creative thinker she is a gifted innovator and a
natural at organizing events and “stuff.”
As Belinda puts it, “By default, I’ve been inducted
into many ‘clubs’ that I would have never voluntarily
joined.” Because cancer and mental illness have
affected her family, Belinda is a tireless volunteer.
She speaks on mental illness, assists with
fundraising and teaches the Visions for Tomorrow
course for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental
Illness).
She enjoys reading, entertaining and her husband
would claim, “shopping!”
